The 2020 Meursault Les Perrières 1er Cru has a perfumed floral bouquet with white fruit, popcorn, quince and light orange blossom scents. Fine delineation, though not the most powerful. The palate is nicely balanced with a touch of patisserie on the entry and vanilla and peach melba. It has good depth, and everything is kept tensile by the line of acidity, although it doesn’t boast the most complexity amongst its peers on the finish. Still, this sophisticated Les Perrières should age well in bottle. Tasted blind at the annual Burgfest tasting. (July 2024) — Neal Martin–Neal Martin, Vinous Media
The bouquet is backward. Quite complete on the palate with what seems like a Charmes style exuberance enhanced by a little more grip. Some yellow plum notes but overall retaining freshness. Medium plus body and fair persistence. Drink from 2025-2032. Tasted: May 2024.–Jasper Morris, Inside Burgundy
