GRANT BURGE – MESHACH 1993

Description

This is an aged, old style Barossa shiraz from Grant Burge and their top Meshach label. The wine is past its peak by a few years, and the cork only just holding on. Fully garnet in colour, the 1993 Grant Burge Meshach opens to warm and generous tertiary aromas of warm roasted coffee, coconuts, vanilla and gentle dark fruits. The palate is full bodied, warm and giving. Its American oak characters have outlasted its rounded shiraz fruit and there are no tannins that are noticeable. Its finish is long and graceful. The alcohol is 14.0 and is not a consideration. This is a warm, generous style of Barossa shiraz that is a little past its prime and provides enjoyable and at times complex drinking.
