Wine Advocate: Issue 164, April 2006
Rating: 95 POINTS
The 2001 Scrio, 100% Syrah, with an expressive and expansive nose of blackberry fruit, cured meat, mint, and vanilla, is equally important on the palate, round and concentrated and with a warm, dense, and substantial finish.

Rating: 91 POINTS
Lots of blackberry and currants on the nose, with hints of roasted coffee. Lots of wood. Tight. Full-bodied, with fine and silky tannins and a long finish. Firm and well-structured. Pure Syrah.
