Description
This is small-batch Moscato (less than 800 cases are produced annually) quite removed from the tutti-frutti norm. Produced from just 1.5 ha of hand-harvested Moscato Bianco grapes (Muscat Blanc a Petit Grains) grown in the Serralunga commune, it is really a superb example of how mineral and cleansing Moscato can be. It’s absolutely bursting at the seams with pear, green tea and white peach notes and a refreshing chalky, mineral close brought to you by the calcareous Serralunga soils. 2012 has a little more stuffing than last year’s wine resulting in a denser yet more mineral wine than you typically get from Moscato. There is a light spritz and although the style is medium sweet, the finish here is quite dry, thirst quenching and very morish. It’s a Moscato d’Asti that the serious wine drinker can relate to – enjoy its fruity charms young and fresh
