Savory, classic, glossy and red, the 2015 Pinot Noir is littered with Szechuan peppercorns, pomegranate molasses, tobacco leaf and brine, and the package is one that teeters on a seesaw of savory spice and sweet fruit. The tannins are uber fine in an open-weave pattern, and while they direct the fruit through the mouth, they do not obstruct it. The fruit is a little plumper here than the austere 2014—it’s a style call for preference.
